As for the title of my first cd, Second Time Around, the song is my thanks to God for giving me the chance to come back to music, if you will, A Second Time Around. The songs I write are from my heart and life experiences; the ups and downs some of us go through. The song "Three of Us" was a personal experience I went through, as well as "Rhythmic Breathing". "Anna" is the end result of both.
The unique sounds in the song "Southbound Special" have a lifetime of memories entwined in it. The bell is from my grandfather's tugboat that he was the captain of back in the 1930's and the train whistle sounds are from my brother's model railroad layout.
I added six more songs in order to complete the ten song cd.
One of the reasons why I write songs is in order to share with others what I have experienced in life and to let them know that they are not alone in how they feel. I hope this gives you an insight into the man behind his writing.

Some of the highlights that have happened since I’ve come back to music have been:
|
In June of 2006, my wife Anna and I traveled down to FAN FAIR in Nashville, Tennessee where I sang and played at Music Row Café and at Ms. Kelli’s in Printer’s Alley; places that I had only dreamed about before. We met so many wonderful people...entertainers and audiences alike. My two song-DVD that I made while performing at Music Row Cafe is now available for purchase. Go to my "How to Purchase CD's, DVD's..." page.; and thanks for helping to support my dreams.

In July, our youngest daughter, Amy, went with us to a fundraiser in Ramapo, N.Y.
|
Our oldest daughter, Amanda was able to go with my wife and I to meet up and entertain with members of Miranda Stars Opry in London, KY. It's a different experience when traveling with grown-up children than when they were younger. “Are we there yet?” comes from both generations, not just the younger ones anymore.

For the New Year, Anna and I were invited down to Zephyrhills, Florida. Our hosts, Al and Julie Traynor, made us feel right at home. I helped Al entertain a New Year's Eve crowd down there, along with taking in a few flea markets. Besides the dance, Anna's favorite time was riding the golf cart in 80-degree weather while looking at the Christmas lights. Mine, besides the entertaining, was picking a grapefruit off of a tree and seeing a live alligator. A big cowboy hat salute to both Al and Julie...once again, thanks for your hospitality and the memories.

I did a few Coffee House’s this past year; one in Illion and another at Pastor Bob Sly’s, “The Way Inn” in Carthage, NY. I’ll be doing several coffee houses this year with Pastor Bob Sly, in various locations and dates. I’ll be posting them on my web site soon in order to let you know when and where I’ll be appearing. The gospel songs That I've written are an amazing blessing from God. The album “The Lord Is Waiting For Me” is dedicated to my mother. My mother gave me the foundation I needed in order to believe in what I sing about on this album. I can't wait to share it with you.

I’ve also been extremely busy working with Bobby “Ace” Schafer on another album. “Tell It To My Heart” is done as well as a DVD of my LIVE performance at Music Row Café in Nashville. I’m looking forward to this year of performing live, as well as continuing on with my songwriting. As always, thanks for stopping by to check out what is happening with my music and know that Anna and I keep all of you in our prayers, daily.

I was at the Chenango Country Fair in August of 2007. One of the dreams I've been chasing all these years was to one day perform on stage with Tommy Cash. Talk about a dream coming true; it happened that night. Tommy invited me up on stage and I sang Hank Williams song "Jambalaya," with Tommy and the Cash Crew backing me up. As Tommy said, Chenango County's Fair audience was the best audience he ever performed for and the same went for me. What a memorable night. I've known Tommy nigh onto forty years now. I've followed his career and whenever he's performed locally, I've been there in the audience, listening to his music. He's back on the road again, this time performing a Tribute to his brother, Johnny Cash. Although you can hear Tommy's heartfelt love for his brother as he sings some of Johnny's most popular songs, one of Tommy’s own songs, “Six White Horses" held the crowd. If you get the chance, make sure you go to see his show. He’s a man of immeasurable talent, especially with his band THE CASH CREW behind him. Click on the link below to see the pictures that Tommy's photogropher took of us all.
